Vertical
The primary score — a point, a three, a goal. Up is the home or serving side, down the opponent.
The product
Four movements, always in the same order: record it, manage it, update it, transfer it. The official signs off once, at full time.
01 · Record
A deliberate swipe along a baseline opens the record — never a tap that fires in a pocket.
Aces and unforced errors in tennis; goals, assists and cards in football.
Goal-line technology taught officials to trust a buzz on the wrist. Baseline uses that channel to write, not just to read.
01 · Record · gesture scoring
An official cannot look at a watch face mid-rally. So the watch stops being a screen and becomes a direction — eight swipes that mean the same class of thing whichever sport is being played.
Vertical
The primary score — a point, a three, a goal. Up is the home or serving side, down the opponent.
Horizontal
The second register: a two-pointer, an ace or fault, a yellow or a red.
Diagonal
Attribution and infringement. Up-right credits an assist; down-right logs a foul.
Hold / two-finger
Press to log a stoppage. Two-finger tap always undoes the last entry, in every sport.
01 · Record · sport packs
Vertical is always the score. Horizontal is whatever that sport’s second register happens to be — so an official who learns one sport has already learned the rest.
Padel — new
Tennis scoring with padel’s own events: errors off the glass wall, and the ×3 winner hit out over the fence.
Rugby union
Four different scoring values, so horizontal carries the conversion and the penalty.
Netball
A single goal value, so horizontal becomes possession instead: intercept and turnover.
The rule that holds
Diagonals never change meaning. Up-right is always credit, down-right is always an infringement.
02 · Manage · moving through the match
Recording an event is one gesture. Everything else — checking a tally, correcting an attribution, reading the log back — lives on pages the official swipes between, so the thumb learns the route and the eyes stay on play.
Gesture collision
On the phone, pages swipe horizontally as you would expect. On the watch they deliberately do not — all four directions inside the face are already spoken for by scoring, so the page turns on the digital crown, or on a swipe that begins at the bezel. A page change must never be mistakable for a goal.
02 · Manage · player data
Goals, assists, fouls, cards and minutes for every player on both teams, updating as each gesture lands. No separate stats app, no post-match tally.
A correction is a new signed entry laid on top of the original. Both stay visible, and so does the order they arrived in.
Every amendment carries why it was made, so a disciplinary panel reading it six weeks later sees the context the official had.
The same table serves the sport it is loaded for: points, rebounds and personal fouls in basketball; aces and unforced errors in tennis.
02 · Manage · the match clock
In basketball, rugby and netball the clock genuinely stops. In football it never does — the referee carries the sum in their head and announces it at 45 and 90. Either way the reason is never written down.
Reasons logged
· Injury or medical attention
· Substitution
· Disciplinary card shown
· Video or VAR review
· Team or broadcast timeout
· Goal celebration
· Ball retrieval or equipment
· Crowd or pitch incident
Added time is one of the most contested numbers in football, and it is produced from a referee’s memory. A reasoned, timed log turns it into an auditable calculation — and gives the league its first data on why matches actually stop.
03 · Update
A licence number is verified with the governing body before the account can open a single fixture.
A Level 3 official sees the competitions a Level 3 official is authorised for — and only the fields that grade may edit.
Timestamp, licence, device and reason code travel with the record, not in a separate log.
The record is append-only. A mistake is amended in view; it never silently disappears.
04 · Transfer
The official signs off once, at full time. The registrar, the disciplinary panel, the broadcaster and the player’s own record all update from that single entry — no second report, no spreadsheet, no re-typing.
Phone + watch, in-game, offline tolerant.
Append-only, signed, hashed at full time.
Results and discipline, live.
Licensing and compliance.
Verified feed at source.
Own record, own rights.
The other half · general accounts
Officials are a narrow market. The same rule engine, scoreboard and wearable layer serve a far wider one: people who just want a game.

Agree a time
A match proposal is a message, not a separate booking flow. Accept, or counter with another slot.
